Whether you’re religious or not, getting ready for Christmas is still one of the most elaborate and difficult tasks of the year. There’s the Christmas tree, the nativity scene, indoor and outdoor Christmas lights, antique ornaments passed down in your family, and, of course, Christmas gifts. You also have to deal with all the preparation involved in sending out holiday cards, preparing a fancy holiday meal, and getting your clothes ready for the trip to church. But to me, the most important part is the figure that, both literally and symbolically sits above everything else: the Christmas tree topper.

These Christmas tree toppers range from simple paper made ornaments to complicated LED lights. Depending on your budget, you can purchase these decorative items. LED garlands and LED ropes are the most famous decorative items and people buy these in large numbers. However there are some decorative items that are exclusively made as tree toppers. These decorative items are lengthy ropes of LED lights and great paper work. The sub branches of this rope are long enough to be draped across your Christmas tree from top to bottom.

The cost of these tree toppers is not on the higher side and you can find them easily in nearby stores. You might as well make your own tree topper but this is a very time consuming task and would require a lot of effort. While it is true that there is nothing better than homemade decorations, it is also true that manufacturers have come up with some fantastic Christmas decorations this year.

The next step is dressing the tree with ornaments; you do not need the most expensive Christmas tree decorations to produce a fabulous Christmas tree as long as you know how to display them correctly. You will be pleased to hear that you really can’t have too many decorations hung on your Christmas tree, the secret is achieving the correct spacing. Start by hanging decorations on the inside branches, this will create interest and depth; use the worst of your decorations for this and save your better decorations for the outside branches. Aim to display around 10 Christmas tree decorations per 2 feet of tree, hang similar decorations together to create maximum effect. If you have a real assortment of decorations using a beautiful ribbon to hang them can give them a more unified beautiful look.

Just make sure that, if your Christmas tree topper is a family heirloom, you are careful when storing it. It might seem like a good idea to let your youngest son be a big boy and climb up on the stepladder with the Christmas star but, when he drops it and breaks it, no one is going to be all that happy about it.
